Do you ever feel like you don’t know exactly what you’re supposed to do with your life? Maybe you’re facing a big decision about college or a career. Maybe you’re simply wondering what separates today from tomorrow and where you’re supposed to go next. Wherever you are in life, we’ve all experienced moments when we feel a little lost and unsure of what comes next.
But as Christians, we don’t have to have everything figured out. God already does.
He created each of us individually and intentionally, in His image. Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Isn’t it comforting to think that the same Creator who made the oceans, the mountains, the stars, and the universe also created you? Psalm 8:5–6 reminds us that God made humanity “a little lower than the angels and crowned [us] with glory and honor.” He created us with purpose and gave us a unique place in His creation.
So if God intentionally made you, don't you think He has a plan for you, too?
Your path may not look like your friend’s, your sibling’s, or your classmate’s. And that’s okay. You were never meant to be anyone else. God created you with your own strengths, weaknesses, passions, and gifts—and He can use all of them for His purpose.
Sometimes, we think our purpose has to be something big: earning a PhD, playing a Division I sport, building a successful career, or starting a family. These things can all be wonderful, but they aren't our ultimate purpose. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are “created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Our purpose is to know God, love Him, and serve Him. And honestly, what greater purpose could there be than serving the Creator of the universe?
How we live that purpose is where our individuality comes in. God doesn't need every person to follow the same path. He can use our different talents, passions, experiences, and even our weaknesses to accomplish His work.
So when the future feels overwhelming, remember that you don't have to know every step before you take the next one. Trust the One who does. God knew you before you were born; He knows where you are today, and He already sees the road ahead.
Your job isn't to have the whole journey figured out.
Your job is to trust God, follow Him, and enjoy the ride.

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to give you hope and a future."
Prayer:
"Dear God, thank you for loving us and having a plan for us even before we knew the name Jesus. Let us be comfortable with the strengths and weaknesses you gave us, knowing that you created us in your perfect image. Our purpose is to serve you, God, and to perform your good works. Allow us clarity to understand the path you have for us and how to follow it, as you have designed it. We know that you will never lead us astray and that you are the light we need to follow. Please give us the strength to do so, for we can do all things through you, God. In Jesus' name we pray -Amen"
